Sketch for middle section of the garden. A path wrapped around a raised circular lawn with long grass and wildflowers on the edges. A rill runs along the foot of the drystone wall with the water ending up in a bespoke concrete trough. Two floating stone steps allow for a shortcut to the lawn area.
Before transforming this uninspiring garden, it was simply an angled and sloped lawn split by a broken and askew concrete path leading to nowhere. The design takes people through the garden to the door of the house where thyme, salvia, viola and Sicilian camomile feature. A circular lawn with wild grass and flowers growing around the margins is accentuated by a reclaimed Cotswold drystone wall. Carefully planned terracing features a rill that runs down the wall emerging into a concrete trough. Two Hawthorne trees stand proud in the corner of this naturalistic and timeless garden.
